In a heart-wrenching incident, a tricolor cat and her two kittens were brutally killed in a residential yard. The cat had appeared in the yard some time ago and had quickly become a part of the community, being well-groomed and obviously from a former home. The grandmothers of the community had taken to feeding her, and she had made her home in the closet of the janitor woman, Valya. During the day, she would bask in the sun, and at night she would hunt for mice in the garages.
However, one day the cat disappeared, only to reappear a month later with two fluffy kittens. The community was delighted to welcome the new additions, and Baba Valya put out a box with food and water for the family. But sadly, some members of the community started to swear about the kittens, claiming they were nothing but a nuisance.
Despite Baba Valya’s explanation that the kittens would soon grow up and be attached to the yard, the evil people could not wait and killed the kittens one day while the cat was out hunting. When the cat returned and found her kittens dead, she was inconsolable. She tried to drag them into the box and licked them, crying and meowing in anguish. Those who saw the cat’s torment were moved to tears.
Baba Valya took the kittens from the cat and buried them, while the cat stood by and meowed plaintively. Whoever committed this act of cruelty will surely get what they deserve, as cat abusers have never gone unpunished. This tragic incident serves as a reminder that we must show compassion and kindness to all animals, and never tolerate any form of cruelty towards them.
