The Days of Our Lives recap for Monday, September 16, brings several intense storylines to light. Steve Johnson was deeply fixated on the inconsistencies in “Abigail DiMera’s” story, convinced that something wasn’t right.
Despite his suspicions, Steve’s request for Kayla Johnson to run another DNA test hit a roadblock when Kayla refused to bend the rules.
Determined to uncover the truth, Steve took matters into his own hands, deciding he would personally visit Clyde Weston at his maximum-security prison to get the answers he needed.
Over at the DiMera mansion, Chad DiMera overheard a tense “Abigail” expressing that she was “freaking out.”
She hastily covered up her phone conversation with Mark Greene by pretending she had been calling for takeout and had simply forgotten the address.
When the conversation shifted to Steve’s suspicions, Chad admitted that many people might see “Abigail’s” return as almost too good to be true.
Despite this, Chad was determined to believe in the miracle he had long hoped for, assuring “Abby” of his gratitude.
He even brought out their wedding photo album, reminding her that they had been married three times.
Chad lovingly spoke about how they always found their way back to each other and even recited vows from one of their ceremonies, leaving “Abigail” visibly emotional.
She almost kissed Chad, but the moment was interrupted by a phone call from Julie Williams, who had updates about their daughter, Charlotte DiMera.
Chad hurried off, leaving “Abigail” looking overwhelmed.
Just when “Abigail” was on the verge of feeling like she couldn’t keep up the charade, Clyde Weston sent her a text demanding to know why she hadn’t gotten Chad to marry her yet.
Clyde reminded “Abigail” of the consequences if she didn’t complete the task, rattling her nerves even further.
Meanwhile, at the Kiriakis mansion, Sarah Kiriakis shared with Maggie Kiriakis that her hypnosis session had been unsuccessful.
On the other side of town, at Basic Black, Xander Kiriakis was shocked when Fiona Cook made a stunning confession—she had slept with Brady Black, and not just once.
Xander was furious, initially believing Fiona’s actions were the result of falling off the wagon, but Brady covered for her, claiming he was the only one who had relapsed into alcohol use.
After lashing out at Brady and firing him, Xander stormed off. Brady, grateful to Fiona for protecting him, appreciated her efforts, and in return, concealed her own struggles with alcohol.
Despite their shared history, Fiona concluded that it would be best for them to stay away from each other moving forward.
Later, Xander met up with Sarah and revealed that he had confronted Brady, but Fiona had stepped in with her confession about their affair.
At Stephanie Johnson’s apartment, Alex Kiriakis showed up to apologize for missing Everett Lynch’s memorial service.
Stephanie, grieving the loss, found solace in Alex’s comforting words, and he reassured her that love would find her again someday.
As the conversation turned warmer, Alex showered Stephanie with compliments, leading to a passionate kiss between the two. However, they quickly pulled back, realizing the timing wasn’t right.
Alex admitted that he wasn’t sure if pursuing a romance was a good idea, given that Stephanie was still healing from Everett’s death and he was still recovering from his relationship with Theresa Donovan.
Despite the hesitation, Stephanie praised Alex for his personal growth, and they settled down to watch TV together.
The sparks between Alex and Stephanie suggest that their story is far from over. According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, fans can expect more romantic twists and turns in Salem as their relationship continues to evolve.
