Wednesday September 18, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Claire and Victoria talk about romance, Billy updates Phyllis on Lily’s betrayal, and Victor warns Cole to stay away.

When Cole visits Victor’s office, he receives a frosty reception.
Victor is displeased with Cole for ignoring his orders to stop seeing Victoria.

Taking a seat, Cole asserts that Victor can’t control their lives. They’ve reunited with their daughter and have a second chance.
It’s their opportunity to live the life they missed. Victor responds that Cole isn’t good enough.
Cole reminds him that it’s not Victor’s choice to make. Shouldn’t Victoria’s desires be the primary consideration?

Victor is sure he has feelings for his daughter, but he doesn’t care.
He’s seen his daughter fall for a bunch of losers, shmucks, and “I don’t know whats” and he won’t condone this.

Cole declares he will be in his daughter and Victoria life in any way he can. He hopes that Victor can accept it, but he won’t back down.
Pointing at him, Victor gives him a warning.
Victoria and Claire meet in the park and talk about what they have planned for the day. Claire is beyond excited that her parents are back together. They seem happy and deserve a second chance.

Her mom is happy about it, but warns it is still at the early stages and not likely to move fast. She’s feeling cautious.
That’s not how it looks to her daughter.
Her mom says that what happened was spontaneous. Claire thinks it was romantic. She’s glad she has something for herself and it can be whatever she wants.
Victoria admits she cares about Cole and is curious about where this could go. But she’s been disappointed many time and is braced for it to happen again.

She’s sure that Cole wouldn’t let her down intentionally. Her daughter thinks she’s making excuses to protect herself and urges her to let the past go and follow her heart.
Claire admits she’s never had love, not familial or otherwise. It’s just something she always wanted. Now that she’s had a taste of it, she’s greedy.

She really wants them to be a family and wants to see her parents in love. Her mom says they aren’t quite there.
Victoria says that knowing her has given her great happiness already. Whatever else comes with Cole is a wonderful bonus.

She starts quizzing her daughter about Kyle. Claire explains it has been slow but they kissed yesterday. That was unexpected.
She’s been playing it over in her head. Her mom thinks that’s great. Claire’s trying to be realistic and has zero romantic experience.
Victoria admits she’s been worried about her being hurt but urges her to carefully enjoy herself.

Claire knows things would be better if he wasn’t her voice, but things could be better if she went to work for Nikki. She’d love a chance to do that again.

She’ll miss Harrison but they will always be buddies.
As they discuss possibilities, Cole shows up and they notice how energized he is.

As Claire dumps some trash, Cole and Victoria talk about thinking of each other and arrange to meet up later.
He gives her a peck and she takes off.
Claire tells him how adorable it it to see him with her mom.
He asks about Kyle and whether he needs to question him about his intentions. She admits it’s all uncertain.
CBS
Claire asks him about his intentions to her mom and warns that Victoria is very cautious. He respects that and says they are building trust at her pace.
His daughter is sure that her mom will want to be with him once she gets past her fear.

Nikki shows up at the Newman office and Victor explains that he just told Mr Howard that he’s not the right man for their daughter.
CBS
She reminds him that it’s up to Victoria. She’s had a lot less deserving men in the past. Is there something he hasn’t told her?
Victor reminds her of all the terrible choices their daughter has made. She urges him to let Victoria make her own choice.
CBS
They talk about Lily and he fills her in about the Odyssey 7 deal.
He needs to blow that deal to smithereens or Chancellor will be impossible to grab.
CBS
Victoria shows up and asks for details. Her dad isn’t giving them.
His daughter has a solution for acquiring Chancellor that won’t require destroying Billy’s reputation.
CBS
She explains that Billy doesn’t care about the Chancellor part of the company. They just need to buy him out of it.
That would be enough money to create his own entity and they would all win.
CBS
Her father flatly rejects this but she keeps pitching. He can’t see why she’s loyal to this “loser.”
She doesn’t want the father of her children humiliated. Victor wants him humiliated. Nikki agrees.
He declares that his plan is in motion and there is no return.
CBS
Phyllis arrives at Abbott Chancellor as Billy is making calls to schedule a party. She’s thrilled to hear about this.
CBS
He didn’t know she was invited. She announces she’s there to give him what he wants.
He hopes it’s a cherry danish. She explains she’s accepting his job offer.
CBS
Billy reminds her she won’t be running things and thinks she’ll have a problem with that. She tries to assure him she has no problem being in a secondary position.
Phyllis promises she’s committed to take the company to the top. When she offers her hand, he says he didn’t expect her to accept the terms.
She repeats she’s fine with them and will bring her own ideas to the table.
He offers to have HR draw up a deal memo and promises it will reflect her worth. They need to get to work immediately and he welcomes her aboard.
CBS
Shutting the door, he tells her that Victor is coming after the company and he has a plan to keep him away.
He explains he’s been locking down a deal with Odyssey 7 and she can help that happen. She asks if it’s really an asset to the company or if he’s trying to prove something to his mom.
CBS
This sets him off. He can’t believe she’s questioning him already.
She wants to understand his choices and knows he makes rash decisions. Is this about Lily?
Billy dismisses this and admits he hasn’t even told his mom about firing Lily.
He insists this deal has nothing to do with his mom or Lily’s betrayal.
CBS
He tells her how Lily planned to deceive him and kick him to the curb. She’s amazed and never saw anything like that from Lily before.
She still thinks this is all more personal than professional. He says it doesn’t matter. It’s still a good deal.
CBS
He orders her to set up a meeting to deal the deal.
She soon returns after making some calls and comes back to say teh CEO is now hedging. Billy is sure something has happened.
Phyllis guesses that Victor got to him. Billy explains Chance and Lily are the only other people who knew about this.
They know Chance wouldn’t have sold him out, so that leaves Lily.
