Friday October 4, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Adam and Chelsea clash over her feelings for Billy, Billy invites Sally to the launch, and Sharon attempts to apologize to Phyllis.
Thursday’s recap: Lucy and Daniel mourn over Heather’s presumed accidental drowning, Paul is notified, and Sharon apologizes to Daniel and Lucy.

Adam runs into Sally at Society.
She attempts to dodge him, but he pleads with her for just a minute.
CBS
She has finally reached a point where she no longer spends half the day in pain, but he hasn’t.
Sally is making a strong effort to forget.
He encourages her not to ignore what her heart is telling her.
CBS
She says it’s too painful. He made it that way.
Billy is lecturing one of his underlings over the phone at Crimson Lights.
He spots Chelsea.
They sit down and he explains that he told the kids they aren’t together.
He blamed it on his work.
CBS
The kids seemed okay with it.
She thanks him for doing that.
They chat about the progress Connor is making.
Things are awkward. He thinks they’ve been through too much for it to be this way.
CBS
Maybe they’ll eventually be able to see each other and it won’t be a big deal.
CBS
The idea that they may never be comfortable with each other again makes her sad.
Adam shows up, surprised to see them together.
CBS
Billy suggests he walk away and reminds him that he hit him.
Chelsea is furious. Adam explains why they fought and Billy hopes that she stops letting Adam use their son to manipulate her.
He walks out. Chelsea accuses Adam of trying to ruin things for her.
CBS
She says they can’t judge Billy after what they did to him. He wonders if she really thinks Billy will take her back.
Chelsea asks him to stop using her like a football. Billy has been her hero and lifeline.
He points out that the fact that Billy rescuing her from herself is a sign that what she feels is not love, but gratitude.
CBS
She says they have true love where you work to keep each other above water.
She wonders why he isn’t chasing after Sally. He admits it’s because Sally knows how he feels about her.
CBS
Sally will never forgive him and has moved on.
He was wrong to lie to her, but he is right about them. Their son can see it.
The ordeal with Connor has made him the man she’s always wanted him to be.
CBS
When she gives him a pitying look, he says maybe she belongs with Billy. The Abbott clearly still wants to rescue her from him.
So where did he go?
In the park, Sharon tries paying her condolences to Daniel and Lucy. She probes them for details on Heather’s death.
CBS
Lucy says she’s making it sound like it wasn’t an accident. Does she know something?
CBS
He sends his daughter to the car and asks Sharon if she’s insane. He just lost the woman he loves and she’s grilling him for details.
Can’t she let them grieve in peace?
Phyllis finds Chance and Summer giggling at the GCAC. They can see she’s upset. She has “horrible terrible news.”
CBS
She fills them in and Chance offers to leave them alone for a minute.
Once he leaves, Phyllis tries pulling herself together. Summer is heartbroken. Her brother seemed so happy and now his life is upside-down.
CBS
She runs off to see him as Chance returns.
Phyllis tells Chance that she’s never seen her son so torn up. He warns it’s about to get worse.
CBS
He spoke to a friend at the department and an autopsy report is coming in. Regardless of what it says, it will be hard.
She thanks him for being there for her daughter. He asks if she has someone to lean on.
CBS
Phyllis thinks that over and says Nick. She assures Chance that she is tough. He offers to go to the station and see what else he can learn.
After he leaves, Sharon shows up and starts offering her condolences to Phyllis.
CBS
This isn’t what she wants to hear. Phyllis accuses her of wanting everyone’s attention and being annoyed that heather’s death has taken the spotlight off her.
CBS
She’ll never forget how she’s been attacking her family. If it’s the last thing she’ll do, it will be making sure no one forgets what Sharon did.
At home, Daniel gets a call from Chance, who says he will be stopping by with news about Heather.
CBS
His sister shows up and gives him a hug. She asks if he’s let himself have a good cry yet.
CBS
He feels terrible for having to tell Paul what happened over the phone. Identifying the body was probably the hardest thing.
That was something he had to do alone. It was so surreal. He feels like he’s walking around in a daze.
CBS
Chance shows up. He explains that he’s seen the autopsy and a friend of his agreed to let him break the news.
Everything they thought they knew about how she died is wrong. She died of blunt force trauma.
CBS
Summer suggests she just fell and hit her head and Chance urges them not to jump into any conclusions.
Daniel doesn’t know what to do with this.
CBS
After Chance leaves, Daniel doesn’t know what to do. His sister urges him not to say anything to Lucy until they know more.
She urges him to get some rest but he can’t. It still doesn’t feel real. He needs to find a way to deal with it.
When he and Heather got back together, he felt like the luckiest guy in the world. His sister holds him.
CBS
Sharon goes to Crimson Lights and cleans tables. Cameron thinks she needs someone to help her analyze what happened.
CBS
He asks how she thinks she reacted. Her run-in with Daniel didn’t go well. Phyllis was even worse.
He tells her she needs to be more careful. Daniel still hasn’t paid and it’s time to make the next move.
CBS
Billy sits at the bar in Society with Sally. He recaps what happened with Chelsea.
CBS
For a moment, he remembered all he felt with her. Then Adam interrupted it.
He and Chelsea knew their dark sides. He was going to remind her of how special what they had was but Adam put a chill on that.
CBS
They talk about focusing on work and toast to being single.
CBS
She tells him he’s a good man and promises things will get better. He’s not used to all this positivity.
Billy asks her to the launch party. She’d be delighted.
CBS
Phyllis interrupts and announces they have an important business problem.
Sally walks off. Phyllis tells Billy that she’s going through something that may affect her job.
CBS
He’s shocked when she announces that Heather died.
She asks if he can be her friend and talk to her. He holds her.
CBS
Summer meets Chance in the park and tells him her brother is a wreck.
it was bad enough that Heather died, but the thought it was intentional…
CBS
He says the GCPD has already launched an investigation.
He’s likely going back on the force and is determined to do all he can to get her some answers.
CBS
Cameron and Sharon pull over somewhere in the dark.
She takes the bloody rags from the back of the vehicle.
CBS
He tells her it’s finally time to make Daniel pay for the life that he took.
CBS

“I don’t think that you’ve ever fully committed to the fact that I’ve changed, that I’m not the same manipulative bitch that I used to !” Diane tells Jack.
CBS
“Diane,” he objects.
“No, I am sick of it!” she declares, walking out.
Sharon hides the bloody rags in Daniel’s liquor cabinet.
CBS
“Something surprising came up when we tried to trace the location of Heather’s phone,” Chance tells Daniel.
CBS
“What happened now?” Lucy asks him.
“There is one more person to question,” says Chance.
