The locals reported that Ruth’s owner had beaten her and left her to die, but the reason behind this cruel act remains unclear.
It is possible that the owner mistreated Ruth because pregnant dogs can sometimes behave unpredictably, which may have angered him. Ruth was suffering from TVT, a transmissible tumor, which made it difficult for her to move.
Despite this, she wagged her tail when she saw us. Unfortunately, we were unable to restore her lost eye, but fortunately, she had no internal injuries. Ruth was allowed to return home to give birth to her litter of 12 beautiful puppies, two of whom were stillborn. However, the rest of the litter is thriving, and Ruth’s health is improving. Although she did not produce enough milk on the first day, her milk production has since increased.
Ruth has gained weight and received treatment for anemia. Although she still has a long way to go, we will ensure that she is safe and cared for. Seeing her brave and happy face once again brings us great joy.
