Enthusiasm to continue this mission, because in this world full of chaos and suffering, every act of kindness and compassion matters. Let me tell you the story of Lilu, a dog who was abandoned and left to die in an abandoned house in the middle of a dense forest.
It was a warm summer day when I first met Lilu. I was on my usual walk in the forest when I heard a faint whimpering sound. As I approached the source of the sound, I found Lilu crouched in a corner of an abandoned house. Her eyes were filled with fear and pain, and her body was covered in tumors. I could see that she was in a lot of pain, and I knew that I couldn’t leave her like this.
I gently picked her up and brought her to the nearest animal hospital. The veterinarians were shocked to see her condition. Lilu was about 7 years old, and her health was very complicated. She had gastritis, pancreatitis, a cyst on the right kidney, suspension with urine, cystitis, and ovarian cyst. She needed to stay in the hospital for at least a week, go through a lot of tests, analyses, histology, surgery, and intensive care.
Lilu’s surgery was quite successful, but her recovery was not without its challenges. She was weak and refused to eat for several days, which made us all worried. But then, one day, she suddenly became more active and started to crave food. We knew that this was a good sign and that we needed to act fast.
Despite her complicated health issues, Lilu’s strong spirit never wavered. She was patient and always hopeful, waiting for salvation. We trusted, we hoped, and we prayed that she would make it through. And she did.
Throughout her treatment and recovery, Lilu remained a fighter. She endured pain, discomfort, and uncertainty, but she never gave up. She showed us what true resilience and strength looked like. Even during her SPA procedures, she was hesitant and scared, but she still wagged her tail and bounced around, happy to be alive.
Lilu’s story is a testament to the power of hope, compassion, and perseverance. It reminds us that every life is worth fighting for, no matter how difficult the circumstances. As I look back on Lilu’s journey, I am reminded of my rule of life: never stop, even when I’m in despair. I keep looking for an escape, enjoying the little things, seeing the beauty, and seeing the world with sobriety and much more.
I am grateful for every opportunity to save an unfortunate life, and Lilu’s story has given me even more energy and enthusiasm to continue this mission.
