Animal rescue organizations have a tough job, and the DIOZ is no exception. Every day, they face the grim reality of animal abuse and neglect. They must take on the role of heroes, saving animals in dire situations. It’s a thankless job, but one that they take on willingly, driven by their love and compassion for animals.

Yesterday, DIOZ inspectors rescued a dog named Zetor from farmer Łukasz Ł. from Gierałtowice. The animal was in a dire state, practically dried to death. Its ribs were protruding, it was apathetic, and it could barely stand on its paws. Pus was gushing from its ears and eyes. The farmer, who considered himself a lover of the countryside and nature, had neglected the dog to the point of near-death.

When the inspectors arrived, they assessed the dog’s condition as really heavy. The dog was in agony, and its sunken eyes only confirmed that it was on the brink of death. The inspectors wasted no time and took Zetor into their care, determined to save his life. The fight ahead of them was not going to be easy, but they were not going to give up.

The test results confirmed the inspectors’ suspicions – the dog was starved. Its body was depleted of all kinds of vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes. Zetor had a great appetite, but the inspectors had to be careful about how much food they gave him. They had to make sure that his stomach didn’t twist, which would be a fatal complication. The fight for Zetor’s life was on, and the inspectors were not going to give up.

The owners of Zetor were outraged by the inspectors’ actions. According to them, the dog was stolen, he was doing great, and he was just old. The torturers supposedly once treated the dog, but neither the pus in the ears nor the thousands of fleas running around his body confirmed this. The executioners face up to 5 years in prison for their actions.

It is not the first time that DIOZ has encountered such resistance from animal owners. In their experience, many animal owners are in denial about their pets’ conditions. They think that they are doing a good job, even when it’s clear that their pets are in dire need of help. It’s a sad reality, but it’s one that the inspectors have to face every day.

The inspectors will continue to fight for Zetor’s life, and they will not give up until he is fully recovered. The dog’s condition was severe, but he is now in good hands. The DIOZ inspectors have given him the love and care he needs to recover, and they will not rest until he is back to full health.

It’s a harsh reminder that animal abuse and neglect are still rampant in our society. It’s up to us to support organizations like DIOZ and fight against animal cruelty in all its forms. It’s not just about saving the lives of animals – it’s about promoting compassion and empathy for all living beings.
