Elle’s rescue story is a beautiful reminder of the power of trust and compassion. One month and a half ago, Elle witnessed the death of her owner and was left tied to a window. For two or three days, she remained there, terrified and aggressive towards anyone who approached her. When she was finally rescued, she was still trembling with fear and seemed impossible to calm down.
Her rescuers tried everything they could think of, from sedation to positive reinforcement techniques, but nothing seemed to work. Elle was still frozen with fear, and there seemed to be an invisible barrier between her and the humans.
That’s when a friend of the rescuers, Moisés Albarracín, came to the rescue. Moisés is a dog psychologist who has an incredible ability to read energy, not only from dogs but also from humans. He understood that Elle was still too afraid to trust humans and needed a different approach.
Moisés began by teaching Elle the importance of personal space and respect. He explained to her that he would not invade her personal space and asked her to do the same. He let her smell him and read his energy, and he gradually gained her trust.
He showed her that he was the one in charge, but in a gentle and loving way. He explained to her that being a leader meant making good decisions, and that she was not yet ready to make good decisions because of her fear. He told her that he would guide her and protect her until she felt safe enough to make good decisions on her own.
As the days went by, Elle began to open up. She started to relax and even allowed Moisés to touch her. She learned to trust him and to understand that he was there to help her.
Moisés also taught the rescuers a valuable lesson. They learned that not all dogs can be helped with positive reinforcement techniques. Sometimes, dogs need a different approach, and it’s up to us to find the right one.
Elle’s rescue story is a beautiful reminder of the power of trust and compassion. It shows us that, with patience and understanding, even the most traumatized dogs can learn to trust again. It also reminds us of the importance of respecting animals and their personal space.
We can all learn from Elle’s story and apply it to our own lives. We can learn to be more patient, more understanding, and more respectful towards each other. And, like Moisés, we can learn to read each other’s energy and communicate in a way that is loving and kind.
Thank you for reading Elle’s story. Let’s continue to spread love and compassion towards all living beings, and let’s never forget the power of trust.
