It was just a few days ago that we found a dog in the middle of the road. He was enormous, and Alex and I were driving when we suddenly saw him. We knew he was going to get hit by a car, and we had to act fast. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a leash or anything to help us rescue him, but we managed to convince him to come with us. He was hesitant at first, understandably so, considering all the things he must have gone through. But we eventually managed to get him into the car and take him to our shelter. And that’s how we met Víctor.
Víctor is a special dog, and I need your help to save him. When we took him to the vet, his initial tests came back fine. He was just very skinny and malnourished. But two days ago, we received a video from the people who were fostering him. He was crying and clearly in pain, and we noticed that he was limping on his left leg. We took him to our clinic to get him checked out, and we found out that he has arthritis in his elbow and hip. We needed to take him to the hospital to get an MRI.
Yesterday, we took him to the hospital, and the MRI revealed that the cartilage in his elbows is completely destroyed. We will need to operate on him using a non-invasive technique called arthroscopy, where we will insert a small camera and a set of instruments to operate from the inside. The recovery time will be quick, but we need your help to pay for the surgery.
Víctor is a young dog, and we’re devastated to find out that he has arthritis. We suspect that he may have had a condition called hip dysplasia, which caused his gait to be affected. We need to do everything we can to save him, and that’s why I’m asking for your help.
Víctor is a wonderful dog, and we know that he deserves a chance at a better life. He’s been through so much, and we don’t want to give up on him now.
