Wednesday September 4, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Sharon makes a promise to Nick, Phyllis clears the air, and Daniel and Heather confront a major challenge.

Tuesday’s recap: Sally Accuses Chelsea of Wanting to Assuage Her Guilt and Declares She’s Done with Adam as Chance Calls Billy Reckless

At Abbott Chancellor, Billy joins a budget call and insists it be completed by the end of the day. Before moving on to another call, he asks someone to sign off on the press release, then prepares to discuss hospitality and catering in yet another meeting.


CBS

He then calls someone named Frank about another matter, and after ending the call, Katie asks if he’s okay.

Surprised to see her, he pretends to remember their lunch plans and they head out together.


CBS

Chance wanders Chancellor Park when Summer finds him, happy to tell him her good news.

She feels life is firing on all cylinders and thinks she owes it to him. She and Kyle are meeting with the lawyers today and she admits she worked hard to release the tension with Claire. Again, she says his advice was what she needed.


CBS

They agree she can be pretty stubborn. Summer feels lucky to have him. They talk about Lucy’s issues and that she’s been released but they’re still waiting on Faith’s release from the hospital.

Summer updates him on her great meeting with Sally, Chloe and Lauren. Chance is impressed.

When she asks about his day with Billy and he hates to rain on her parade but fills her in on Lily’s dismissal and how it’ll hurt the company.


CBS

Summer’s shocked and wonders what’s up with Billy. Chance rants about how he trusts nobody.

He wonders when it’ll be his turn. Summer tells him he doesn’t owe Billy loyalty.

She too worries Billy will throw him overboard. Maybe he should quit. Chance admits he has another thought that’s radical. Summer encourages him.

Lucy’s not happy her parents dragged her to Crimson Lights. They’re grateful she is fine but are keeping a close eye on her.

She assumes this means they’re going to let her have it soon. She’d rather they lecture her now.

Daniel says first, they need to figure out what’s going on with her. They’re worried about her and ask if she’d like therapy.


CBS

She agrees to it, reluctantly. The lecture about drinking and theft begins and they hate that she drank and drove.

Daniel says she’s lucky nobody was killed. Lucy knows and learned her lesson but Daniel doesn’t believe her.

Lucy really is sorry but Heather says it’s not enough.


CBS

They’re giving her tough sentencing. Summer interrupts, glad to see Lucy is out of the hospital.

Lucy tells her she’s about to get her sentencing. Summer has had a lot of those and advises to just accept whatever it is.


CBS

Lucy’s ready. Daniel says she’ll donate $250 to Cassie’s Challenge, the charity Sharon put up in Cassies’ honor, and she’ll do community service.

She’ll also have to postpone Drivers’ Ed a year.

This will all mean she’ll think twice about drinking. Lucy’s pissed and just wants to leave.


CBS

She runs off and from the look on his sister’s face, Daniel knows Summer thinks the’re being harsh.

Summer understands but isn’t sure Lucy realizes what she’s done. She actually thinks they’re too lenient. They should get her to write a letter of apology to Faith and her family to let the pain and fear sink in.


CBS

At the hospital, Sharon worries to Nick about why Faith is still hospitalized when Lucy’s been released.

Nick says he’s pretty sure it’s because of Faith’s past kidney transplant. Nick tries to comfort Sharon.

Phyllis shows up with a teddy bear and Sharon off about not knowing why she’s still in the hospital.

They appreciate her visit but have no time for this. Besides, Faith’s asleep.

Phyllis seems surprised by Sharon’s treatment of the redhead.

Phyllis hands over the bear and Nick walks her out, apologetic.


CBS

Phyllis brushes it off, knowing this had to be hard on them. She’s sympathetic.

Faith wakes up and is glad to hear from Sharon that Lucy’s gone home. She’s a little worried about why she’s still there but Sharon says she’s fine. Faith worries she messed up her body in that DUI years ago but Sharon tells her, “You did nothing wrong.”

Outside, Red tells Nick he’s a great dad and not to worry. She bets the doctor will be there any moment with discharge papers. She touches his face as Sharon comes around the corner with a smile on her face and watches the exchange.


CBS

Her smile fades and she looks as though she thinks there’s more to it. Phyllis notices Sharon who tells Nick their daughter is doing well and to come see her. Phyllis offers to go but Faith hears her voice and calls her over.

Phyllis gives her the bear and is startled that Faith has an apology for her.


CBS

Phyllis says she did nothing wrong.

Lucy made a mistake and Faith reached out to her. It could have ended worse.

Sharon walks up and scowls when Phyllis tells Faith that Lucy isn’t to blame, either.


CBS

Suddenly, Cameron appears at Sharon’s side and tells her they know that’s not true.

Someone is to blame and it’s time they face consequences.


CBS

Back outside the room, Sharon doesn’t want her daughter to be taxed and thinks Phyllis should leave. Nick disagrees.

It’s good for Faith to have a visitor and to release the anxiety she has. Sharon is stumped that he thinks Phyllis is a calming influence. Nick goes off to see the doctor.

At Society, Katie asks for Billy’s advice. He wrongly assumes it’s about Claire but Katie says she’s fine. It’s about her field hockey team. She’s one of the best players. Billy gets a call about the revised budget and barks at someone to get it done before he disconnects.


CBS

Another call comes in about work and his kid is interrupted again. She tells him she wants to become captain when he gets another call. By this time, she’s exasperated with her dad. He apologizes for his distractions but there’s a lot going on at work.

He’s sorry he made her feel like his work is more important to her but tells her one day she’ll inherit an important company with her name on it. She couldn’t care less.


CBS

He shuts off his phone and she tells him she wants to convince the team she should be the captain without stepping on toes. She touts the many reasons she should be captain and he’s impressed. She asks if it’s enough.

He believes so but if she doesn’t get picked, they should discuss how it’s not the end of the world. It’s just one season.

She’ll just learn more and keep trying if she doesn’t get it. Katie understands. They fist bump and start eating.


CBS

Billy brings Katie back to work with him and they say goodbye when they find Chance in his office. Billy wrongly thinks his nephew is there to apologize but Chance says no.
