Tuesday October 8, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Victor stirs up some trouble, Chance warns Daniel not to leave town, and Nick finds himself caught between his two ex-wives.
Monday’s recap: Sharon plants evidence to frame Daniel while he and Chance believe they’ve uncovered a lead, and Claire confronts Kyle.

Diane is working on her laptop at home when Jack arrives.

She informs him that she’s about to head to work, but he asks her to join him for lunch. She’s uncertain about it.
Traci and Alan return from Paris, and Jack remarks on how lovely it is to see smiling faces.

Alan tells them they closed up the townhouse and are headed for something to eat. He and Diane head to the kitchen while Traci and Jack embrace. Traci checked in on Ashley who is doing well.
She’ll be back in time for Devon and Abby’s wedding. Jack mentions the stress around Genoa City while they’ve been gone and how he’s trying to salvage things with his son.

At GCAC, Victor has a task for Michael. He complains that there are more trials with him than at the Olympics. Victor admits he bought a company that has potential but nobody knows.
This surprises Michael until he learns it’s Glissade. Victor fills him in on the ins and outs Michael thinks he’s on a roll of sticking it to everyone involved. Why does he need him?

Faith gathers with Mariah and Nick at Crimson Lights with an update about Sharon, that she went out late last night and didn’t respond to her texts. She said she was restless and did apologize but Faith is still concerned.

Nick asks if she thought her mom was lying. Faith wonders if she’s getting better at hiding her issues. Nick will make more of an effort to spend time with his ex.

Faith wishes she could do more for her mom but Nick says taking off a semester from school is enough.
Mariah holds her sister’s hand and comforts her. She knows this is hard.

Summer and Phyllis sit outside and Phyllis tells her daughter about how Lucy wanted to find a necklace of Heather’s. It was gut-wrenching for her though she found the necklace and put it on.
Summer’s eyes tear up. Phyllis says it took a lot out of her so she held her until she fell asleep.

They discuss someone finding Heather’s phone and how they hope this gives them answers.
They worry for Daniel and Phyllis realizes she did this to Summer and Daniel and wants to make it up to them.
Summer tells her mom she’s there now and it matters. They can’t live in the past.

Chance drops by Daniel’s condo to follow up about the text.
Daniel says the person didn’t show up at the Athletic Club and when he texted a second time, they didn’t respond.
Chance says it may not happen. Daniel explodes.

He thinks they can figure out what happened to her if they find her phone. Chance still wonders how a random person got access to it. He questions Heather’s demeanor before she left.
Daniel gives him a picture of what life was like for both of them with their job loss and Lucy’s issues making friends. He details Lucy obsessing over Faith and how Sharon ordered Lucy away from Faith and that it escalated the day she left.

Chance learns about the car accident and how it mirrored Cassie’s. Daniel thinks seeing him is a constant reminder of that. The tension is always there because of his involvement.
It upset Heather and Daniel blames Sharon for her wanting to get away.

Sharon sits at home looking pensive and thinking about dumping Heather’s body. She tells herself to keep it together. Cameron tells her to make a move. Call the cops and send them to Daniel’s place.

Sharon doesn’t want to talk to him. She’d rather talk to Cassie. She puts her head in her hands and when she opens them, Nick’s there. She hugs him and asks for his help.
He reassures her. She moves in for a kiss and Cameron backs away. “Nice try,” he says. She has work to do.

Traci and Alan arrive at the GCAC and spot Victor with Michael. As they take their table, Traci tells her beau who the gentlemen are in relation to her family.
She tells him how she tries to avoid Victor’s machinations but that he always finds a way to torture the Abbotts.

Nearby, Victor tells Michael that Kyle committed corporate espionage for him. Michael finds it brazen. Victor says the product is in the planning stage.
Victor wants him to protect him from potential fallout though Michael isn’t sure how. Victor says Kyle’s finally cutting the cords to his dad and manifesting his loyalty to him. “As it should be.”

At her table, Traci worries to Alan about her brother and Diane’s argument. Her brother would never argue loudly and in public!

Victor visits Jack’s table. Jack’s unwelcoming and when Victor asks how John would feel about the display, Jack refuses to bite. Victor asks how his dad would feel about his “numerous failings.”
Jack knows Mumbles is thrilled about his issue with his son but they’ll work it out. Victor brings up him allowing his wife to fire his son. His sympathies lie with Kyle.

Chance and Summer get drinks at Society and Chance is rocked to hear about Paul’s heart attack. She’s sorry, knowing that they were close. He’ll have to tell everyone at the department and his mom.

“It’s awful,” he says, knowing how common heart attacks are after hearing about such a death. Summer asks how his conversation with her brother went. Chance says yes.
Heather had cause to be upset that night but why go to the river? He theorizes, wondering who knew her well enough to get into her locked phone. He doesn’t believe this was an accident.

Daniel and Phyllis find Nick, Faith and Mariah at Crimson Lights.
Nick hugs Daniel and the women pay their respects. Nick asks after Lucy and learns she’s doing as well as to be expected.

Sharon walks in and eavesdrops behind a potted plant as Nick asks if Paul knows and learns that he had a heart attack after the news. Sharon gasps aloud and everyone turns to her.

She gives her condolences and Phyllis takes off with Daniel and Mariah heads out with Faith while Nick asks Sharon out on a date for dinner. She smiles. She’d love to. After he leaves, she beams.

Michael follows Diane to Neil’s lounge and she spills about Kyle’s betrayal and Jack being consumed with hatred of Victor. Micahel thinks Jack should know better by now than to be sucked in by one of Victor’s maneuvers.
Diane asks if Victor sent him to check on her. Michael denies it and tells his friend she can confide in her. She talks about the mutual obsession between her husband and Micahel’s boss and how it’s affected everything in their life.

Jack wanders into GCAC with Diane by his side and they stare at Victor.
Jack offers to go somewhere else but Diane refuses.
CBS
They get a table and Sharon meanders in. Traci greets her and they talk about how well Ashley’s doing.
Traci comments that Sharon and Alan have something in common since they’re both therapists.
Sharon seems a little off as usual. They get to know one another and Sharon shares her past with him in psychology and he tells her about the book he’s writing.
CBS
He’d love her input but she’s much too busy. She toddless off and Alan’s amazed at how many interesting people Traci knows. Now he needs a realtor. Traci asks him to move in with her.
She’s got a wing to herself or they can move into the pool house.
He loves the idea but doesn’t want to crowd him or annoy her family. Traci appreciates his considerate nature but she can ask Jack and Diane if it’s fine with them. Alan loves the idea.

Back at their table, Diane and Jack argue over Victor manipulating Kyle. Diane thinks Jack’s blaming her by firing Kyle. Jack asks what’s wrong.
Diane hasn’t recovered from their last argument and now Jack’s preoccupied with Victor to the point that he can’t see their son is the one destroying their family.

Michael and Victor watch the argument and wonder if it’s about Kyle sabotaging Jabot.
“Couldn’t happen to a nicer couple.” He raises a glass. “Cheers, old boy!”

At the other table, Jack and Diane go at it. They get louder and louder and Diane snaps. Their son is a grown man capable of making his own decisions and she says he disrespected them and is ready to sabotage their company.
Jack feels that their son feels they’re not there to support him. Diane says, “You mean me.” She is tired of him thinking she’s the same “manipulative bitch” and takes off. Victor tells Michael to go check on her since they’re friends. Michael takes off.

Daniel finds his mom and sister at Crimson Lights and takes a seat with them as he tells them Lucy refuses to come out with him. He updates them on his talk with Chance.
None of them can figure out why Heather was at the river.

Daniel goes off to take a call and when he returns, he’s visibly shaken. He tells the women that the hospital in Lisbon called him to tell him Paul had a heart attack. He’s recovering but can’t make the service.
Phyllis and Summer are shocked. Daniel guesses the shock of losing his only daughter got to him.
