Wednesday October 9, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Nick and Sharon go out for dinner, Chance interrogates Lucy, and Mariah and Tessa extend a job offer to Claire.
Tuesday’s recap: Paul suffers a heart attack, Traci invites Alan to move in with her, and Nick asks Sharon out on a date.

Nick stops by Society to check in with Mariah and Tessa about Sharon.
Mariah mentions that Sharon was fantastic in their meeting earlier today.

After he leaves, Mariah hopes that Nick can see that Sharon has turned a corner.
Tessa remarks that now that Sharon is improving, she needs to share some bad news with her.

They need to find a new nanny. Petra has decided to join the poetry jam and travel cross country.

Tessa can’t think of anyone who could be a better nanny. Mariah can.

Cole is having coffee with Victoria and Claire at Crimson Lights.
They talk about how Johnny and Katie seem to be warming up to their new sister.

They are warming up to Cole too. Her parents wonder if they are keeping ehr from a date with Kyle.
Claire actually needs to get to teh craft store and takes off.

Victoria worries that something has gone wrong between her daughter and Kyle. She hopes she didn’t sour her on love.
He wonders what she told their daughter.
She urged Claire to take things slowly and pointed out things get complicated between Newmans and Abbotts.

She’s had her heart broken many times and been hurt. She’d hate to see Claire torn apart like that.
Cole says this explains why she’s not letting herself go in their relationship.
She admits she wants to but she’s scared, sure things won’t work out well.

He hates that her heart has been shattered and he didn’t love her the way she should have been loved.
If he had his way, no man would break her heart again.

He says they can go at any speed she wants. Claire returns to grab her purse.
They ask her to stay for a cookie but she gets a text to meet someone and leaves.
At Sharon’s, Faith notices that her mom is all dressed up.
Sharon announces she’s having dinner with Nick…alone.

Faith is glad they are connecting. They all love her.
Sharon is really feeling the love tonight. She shows her daughter some jewelry that Nick gave her.
Faith assumes that Heather’s death has reminded her how she can’t take anything for granted.

After Faith wanders off, Sharon puts her earrings on.
Cameron tells Sharon they have bigger fish to fry than her date. He reminds her there has been no arrest. Either Daniel is going down or she is.
She is sure the cops will find the evidence she planted. He reminds her she needs to tip the cops off.

Sharon just wants to focus on Nick tonight.
He warns the cops could be slapping the cuffs on her before she hits dessert.
She refuses to let him ruin date night.

Faith returns with a bracelet for her mom and tells her how glad she is that she and Nick are still friends.
Sharon is sure they will always be close.
Nick arrives, startled to see that Sharon has dressed up. Faith announces her mom has a new outlook on life.

Sharon wants joy and they head out.
Back at Society, Mariah and Tessa prepare themselves before Claire arrives.

She’s confused by the meeting request.
They immediately asks if she’d like to be Aria’s nanny now that Harrison is in school.
Claire didn’t expect this. Tessa says they are desperate.
Her wife adds they want the best and that’s her.

Claire is caught off-guard but will consider it.
They offer her food and drinks.

Once Claire leaves, Faith shows up and starts to wonder if Sharon and Nick might get back together.
Mariah wonders where this desire for a romcom ending is coming from. Faith just wants her mom not to fall off the deep end.

Claire returns to Crimson Lights and tells her parents about the job offer.
CBS
Since Nikki hasn’t given a definite start date, maybe she should consider it.
They tell her not to commit to Mariah and Tessa if she really wants a job with Nikki.

Claire is overwhelmed with becoming so in-demand.
After Cole goes home, Victoria and her daughter talk about how he always fills them with Hope.
Claire asks her mom why she doesn’t ask him to move in. Her mom thinks it’s too soon.

Chance shows up at Daniel’s and tells him something surprising came up when they tried to trace the location of Heather’s phone.
CBS
The cop explains that someone went to a lot of effort to make it untraceable.
The last legit place it showed up was in the building.
Chance would like to talk to Lucy but Daniel says it’s out of the question.
CBS
The detective says he’s just trying to build a timeline and suggests that Lucy might know something she doesn’t think is important.
Daniel guesses he’d rather have Chance do this than anyone else.
The cop assures him he will stop if it gets to be too much.
When Daniel walks off to get his daughter, Chance walks around the room, looking at a family portrait.
Lucy enters with her father.
They sit and Chance explains that he was very close to Heather once. She was one of the kindest people he ever met.

The cop asks about the days leading to her mom’s death and if she said anything about wanting to go away.
They talk about the idea of the trip to Lisbon and Lucy cries as she worries that this is her fault.
CBS
He gets her to talk about Sharon lashing out at them and her how her mom kept getting her to back off.
Chance asks if her parents ever fought about Heather’s desire to move.
Lucy gets defensive.
The detective assures them he’s just looking for answers. They claim they are questioned out.
CBS
As the cop goes, he tells Lucy how sorry he is. He has one more person to question.
Nick and Sharon go to the GCAC and he apologizes for being underdressed.
He notices she’s wearing the earrings he gave her.
CBS
She recalls the first time he took her out and how much he impressed her.
He can hardly recognize who they were.
She says he still has some of the same twinkle in his eye.
Nick thinks they should be proud of how things have worked out.
CBS
Sharon is really happy with where they have ended up and they toast to unexpected outcomes.
He hasn’t seen her so relaxed in a long time. She says he puts her at ease.
They discuss how therapy is going and she asks him if he feels all the comfort and peace she does when they are together.
She’ll never forget the way he has looked out for her.
CBS
He reminds her that he and the girls don’t like to see her struggle. Sharon says that he helped her out of the abyss.
She doens’t think he realizes hoe much strength his presence gives her.
CBS
Nick takes Sharon home.
She says it felt like old times.
CBS
He admits he needed this more than he realized.
They kiss. When she says she shouldn’t have done that, he says she didn’t misread anything.
CBS
He kisses her again and steps inside.
They leap onto the couch.
“Oh for god’s sake!” Cameron complains. He points out this was just a fantasy. Nick didn’t even walk her to the door.
CBS
This is no bodice-ripper. She needs to push pause on the romance novel and focus. He tells her she needs to finish what she started.
She insists she’s done.
CBS
Faith arrives, surprised to see her mom home so early.
Sharon says she had a wonderful time and her daughter gives her a hug, happy to see her smiling.
Sharon plans to keep it up.
CBS
Once Faith goes to bed, Sharon is startled when Chance shows up.
She asks what this is about. “Heather Stevens,” he explains.
