On Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives, Johnny DiMera woke up from another unsettling dream about his wife, Chanel DiMera, and Alex Kiriakis hooking up.
Meanwhile, Chanel texted Alex, asking for a private conversation but quickly covered her tracks when Johnny appeared.
Chanel pretended to be texting Felicity Greene about the bakery and mentioned that Kate Roberts Brady delayed their scenes so her back could heal.
Although Chanel reassured Johnny that he had nothing to worry about regarding the love scene, she soon left, supposedly heading to Sweet Bits bakery.
Mark’s Hitman Struggles and Felicity’s Confusion
Elsewhere in Salem, Mark Greene expressed his frustration to Clyde Weston about being forced into a hitman role.
Despite his reluctance, he acknowledged that he had a deadly mission to complete: killing Chad DiMera. When Felicity later joined them, she assumed Mark wanted to discuss “Abigail DiMera”, leaving him confused.
Johnny, searching for Chanel, crossed paths with Felicity, who revealed that she hadn’t seen or texted Chanel that day, which only deepened Johnny’s suspicions. Determined to find his wife, Johnny set out to uncover the truth.
Stephanie’s Regret and Chanel’s Surprise Party
At Alex’s apartment, Stephanie Johnson awoke after spending the night with Alex. Feeling embarrassed, she scrambled to gather her clothes, while Alex downplayed the situation, suggesting that things like this happen.
However, Stephanie insisted that their encounter was a mistake and should be forgotten.
When Chanel arrived and saw Stephanie leaving, she was amused by the awkward scene but knew it wasn’t her business.
The real reason Chanel wanted to see Alex was to enlist his help in planning a surprise birthday party for Johnny. She hoped the celebration would help Johnny overcome his jealousy.
Alex agreed to help, assuring Chanel he would keep it a secret. However, it was later revealed that Johnny had been spying on their conversation, and he became furious, misinterpreting the situation yet again.
Johnny’s Growing Jealousy and Mark’s Emotional Farewell
At the Body & Soul office, Johnny was shown a new poster featuring Chanel and Alex as their characters.
Although he pretended to be fine with it, he secretly crumpled up one of the posters in frustration, clearly struggling with his jealousy.
Meanwhile, Mark had an emotional exchange with Felicity, who remarked that “Abigail” reminded her of their mother.
Mark agreed, noting that “Abby” shared some of their mother’s mannerisms. Before leaving for an overseas trip, Mark hugged Felicity, assuring her he would do anything for her.
Kayla’s DNA Revelation and Chad’s Confusion
At the hospital, Steve Johnson revealed to Kayla Johnson that he had given fake DNA samples to Mark. Mark had tested the samples and confirmed that Thomas DiMera was a match for “Abigail.”
However, Steve joked that Mark had unwittingly proven Kayla was his “mommy,” since the samples were from Steve and Kayla, not Thomas.
Kayla reran the DNA test between “Abigail” and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), confirming that the results had been tampered with.
Realizing “Abigail” was an imposter, she and Steve tried to contact Chad, but their calls went unanswered.
“Abigail’s” Guilt and Chad’s Devotion
In Paris, “Abigail” grew emotional as she looked at Chad and the real Abigail DiMera’s wedding photo. Chad, trying to comfort her, brought her flowers for their upcoming wedding but was puzzled when she began to cry.
Unable to keep her emotions in check, “Abigail” blurted out that she wasn’t the woman in the picture, confusing Chad.
She insisted that she didn’t look like or share the same memories as the real Abigail. Despite her confession, Chad reassured her that his love for her was all that mattered.
Later, “Abigail” spoke to Mark over the phone, confessing her growing feelings for Chad, which only intensified her guilt.
Mark urged her to stay focused on their mission to save their mother. However, he kept his plan to kill Chad a secret.
