Catire, a dog from Anzoategui, Venezuela, was left to suffer alone after being run over and left locked up in a deserted place. When he was found, his condition was already critical. He was emaciated, dragging his body with his front legs in search of food, and was constantly dismissed by those who passed by. Despite his dire situation, Catire remained friendly and grateful to the people who offered him food.
After being rescued and taken to a clinic, Catire was given a name that means “blonde” and “brave” in Spanish. The first night in the clinic, Catire spent most of his time eating, showing how starved he was. The next day, he underwent a blood test and X-ray examination, and the results came back with good news. Catire was healthy enough to start gaining his strength back and try his new wheel-chair.
Although Catire was still unable to walk, he was determined to overcome his adversity. With the help of kind hearts, Catire gained two kilos in just one week, and his appetite was back to normal. It will still be a long journey for Catire, but with the support of the people who care for him, he will overcome his obstacles and live a happy life.
