This is the story of a small puppy who was found in Chilibre, Rio Chagres in a state of extreme malnutrition. We do not know how she ended up in this situation, but we knew that we had to do everything we could to save her. It took us 50 minutes to drive to where she was, and when we arrived, her condition was critical.
This tiny little puppy was only 4 or 5 months old, with a small skeleton and was struggling to breathe. It was heartbreaking to see her in this state. We knew that it was almost impossible to save her, as she was completely exhausted, and her body was not able to resist any longer. She weighed only 3 kilos, and her little body was suffering and tired.
Despite our best efforts, we knew that as humans, we had failed in taking care of her. Medically, we had done everything that we could for her, and now we just had to wait and see if she was able to make it.
This little puppy’s survival was touch and go, and we prayed every moment for her to pull through. She fought hard, and with every passing day, her condition started to improve. She slowly gained weight and became stronger, and we knew that our prayers had been answered.
The experience of rescuing this little puppy has been a reminder of the importance of caring for our animals, and the consequences that arise when we do not. The joy of seeing her happy and healthy, after having been on the brink of death, has made it all worth it. We will continue to care for her and give her the love and attention that she deserves.
