By chance, while passing by a group of people picking up scrap materials, our team spotted a man tying up a dog on his motorcycle. Upon further research, we learned that he works as a scavenger, but often buys dogs to sell to dog meat shops. The dog was tied up with its hands and feet and wearing sacks pitifully. We knew we had to rescue it.

We approached the man and asked if we could buy the dog from him. He refused, saying that this was his main job and he couldn’t give it up. He blamed the dog eaters and the owner of the dog for his actions, claiming that he only did it to support his family.

Undeterred, our team carried out a propaganda campaign to raise awareness about the dog meat trade and its cruelty. We also worked with local authorities to rescue the dog from the man’s grasp.

We brought the poor dog back to our center and provided it with food, water, and medical attention. It was heartwarming to see it slowly regain its strength and start to trust humans again.

While we were able to rescue this one dog, there are still countless others suffering in the dog meat trade. We hope that by raising awareness and taking action, we can one day put an end to this cruel industry.
