Angel, a stray dog, was found in a shocking state by a woman who saw her at her cat feeding station. Angel was covered in open wounds and a severe infection that was oozing pus. She was also starving, skin and bones, dehydrated, and incredibly anemic. The inflammation on her legs and paws was so severe that it made it impossible to fit a cannula for a blood transfusion.

At first, Angel didn’t like being touched at all as she was so scared and in so much pain from inflammation remedies. But as the days went by, she began to make progress. On day 2, she started accepting contact, and by day 4, she had full blood tests, which showed some improvement. On day 5, she enjoyed her first chicken breakfast, and by day 6, she regained the ability to move without pain and started making friends.

Angel proved to be a real extrovert girl, as on day 6, right after being unlocked, she just “ran” back to the common room with her friends. By day 10, the skin on her legs and stomach had recovered, except for a small part on her head. She even began to lift her leg so her caregivers could tickle her tummy gently.

On day 12, Angel had made herself comfortable on the sofa, having left her comfy bed empty. Two weeks since being rescued, Angel made absolutely amazing progress and became a much happier dog. Her transformation was so incredible that it is hard to believe that she is the same dog that was found in such a shocking state.

Angel’s recovery was made possible by the tireless efforts of her caregivers and the support of generous donors. Her case is a reminder of the importance of rescuing and rehabilitating stray animals, who often have nowhere else to turn. With the right care and love, these animals can make remarkable recoveries and go on to lead happy and healthy lives.
