It Has Been Abandoned by Its Owner for a Long Time, Its Body is Only Skin and Bones

Hazelnut was a small dog who came to me in a terrible condition. He was skin and bones, neglected by his own owner for a long time. As I looked at him, I couldn’t help but feel angry and sad at the same time. There was no reason for an owner to leave his dog in such a state.

But I tried to control my anger and sympathize with Hazelnut. He needed my help and care, not my anger. All tests showed that he was suffering from parvo virus disease, a serious condition that required immediate treatment.

We discussed the best course of action and decided to take him to the operating room. In addition, we also decided to use acupuncture as a long-term pain-relieving treatment. However, due to the delayed treatment, his muscles didn’t respond well to the electric current, and we needed to combine it with physical therapy.

Hazelnut’s recovery was slow and difficult. He couldn’t get up or walk, and his owner never came back to visit him. It was heart-wrenching to see his sad expression every day, but he didn’t give up. He tried to become better every day, eating regularly and supplementing with healthy nutrients. We did acupuncture daily, and soon, Hazelnut started responding well to the treatment.

Although his recovery was beyond my imagination, Hazelnut still couldn’t walk normally. He needed a stroller and physical therapy to get him moving. But his desire to walk was strong and endless, and he never gave up.

We used the swimming method to help him move his legs, and it was a breakthrough for Hazelnut. He gained weight and was cared for in a professional manner, along with other disabled dogs. His resilience and determination were admirable, and I cheered and praised him whenever he achieved something.

Hazelnut’s past of grief and illness seemed to have completely disappeared from his young soul. His life was much better now, very healthy, very happy, and very peaceful. He was one of the most resilient dogs I have ever seen, and his story is a testament to the power of love and care.

As I look back on Hazelnut’s journey, I realize that all the surgery, post-operative care, nutrition, and treatment were important, but they weren’t as important as his will to live. Hazelnut had a strong desire to live, and he fought every day to make that happen.

His story serves as a reminder that love is the core of life. It is the love and care that open up new lives for animals with dark fates. Hazelnut’s journey was a difficult one, but his resilience and determination made it all worthwhile.
