Giorgi Berejiani’s pet dog, Jorge, went missing from their house in Tbilisi, Georgia, three years ago — yet the tie of love between them was never broken. Berejiani, determined to find his beloved dog, searched everywhere for Jorge after his dog vanished in 2015. He never gave up trying, even when his first searches yielded no results. He began asking his neighbors and others in the area to keep a watch out for Jorge as well. As the months turned to years with still no clues, his search continued.
Then everything changed. After years of searching, a ray of hope appeared on the horizon. Staffers at a local company, who had learned of Berejiani’s search for Jorge, noticed a dog that matched his description earlier this week. This dog, however, had been tagged by the city as a stray, so they phoned Berejiani just in case.
Naturally, Berejiani rushed over to the location to investigate. The moment he saw the dog, he knew in his heart that it was Jorge. He called out his name, and the dog ran towards him, barking with excitement. Berejiani was overjoyed to see his long-lost dog, and Jorge couldn’t have been happier to be found, based on his joyous cries.
“I’m overjoyed,” Berejiani said. “I’ve never seen him so happy in my life.”
Jorge was in surprisingly good health, considering he had been living on the streets for three years. After a visit to the vet, Jorge was declared healthy and ready to return home. The reunion was an emotional one, with both the dog and owner being overwhelmed with happiness.
