Noa was rescued two months ago from a Valencian shelter. She had leishmaniasis, and we were called to help her. When we saw her, we couldn’t believe her condition. She was in bad shape, with her skin and internal organs affected. We took her to the hospital, and that same night she had to undergo surgery for gastric torsion. She barely survived the operation and needed several blood transfusions. The next day, she had another emergency surgery for a condition called intussusception. Despite the serious prognosis, Noa made incredible progress in the following weeks. She had a strong will to live and never gave up. After two weeks of hard work, constant treatment, and suffering, Noa finally recovered.

Noa is now at our rescue center, La Casa Grande, waiting for a family and enjoying her life. But we recently noticed that she was limping. On Saturday night, we were informed that she was slightly limping, and we asked them to keep an eye on her the next day. But Noa’s condition didn’t improve, so we decided to take her to the hospital.

We couldn’t see any external issues with her leg, but it was a bit swollen. At the hospital, the staff examined her and found that she had an inflammation in her leg. They suspected that she might have stepped on a thorn, causing a small wound that got infected and led to the inflammation.

After some tests and an X-ray, the hospital staff concluded that the inflammation was due to a minor infection and not a more serious issue like a tendon rupture or elbow problem. We left Noa at La Casa Grande, where she’ll receive ointment and antibiotics for a few days to treat the infection. We believe that this should resolve the problem.

Noa is up for adoption, and we can say that she is a wonderful dog who will make her new family very happy. If any issues arise, we’ll always be there for her.
