The Dog Can’t Stand Because of the Loss of Orientation

Kali is a “community dog” with several families who take care of her, but she does not have an owner who considers her a personal possession and lives like other street dogs in her neighborhood, roaming here and there. When Kali was hit by a bicycle, her neighbors were distressed, but they probably had never had a dog before, and when they saw that she could not get up, they called Animal Aid Unlimited, India for help.

Initially, the veterinarians thought that Kali might have had a spinal injury because she could not bear weight on any of her legs, but after a few days, they began to believe that it might have been a head injury that caused her balance problems and a sense of disorientation. She started to be able to stand and move a little bit, but her fighting spirit made her not give up, and she cheerfully accepted her physiotherapy sessions.

Slowly but surely, Kali’s orientation returned, and we were able to take her back to the neighbors she had missed so much. The reunion of Kali with her caregivers was beautiful. It was a testament to the strong bond that had formed between them over time. As she wagged her tail and licked their faces, it was clear that she had missed them just as much as they had missed her.

This heartwarming story of Kali’s recovery is a reminder of the importance of animal rescue and rehabilitation. The team at Animal Aid Unlimited worked tirelessly to help Kali get back on her feet, and their dedication paid off in the end. It is also a testament to the power of community care for street dogs, who may not have a traditional owner but still have people who look out for them and care for them.
