The Young and the Restless fans will recall that Ashley decided she couldn’t abandon her family and start a new empire with Tucker, which sent him flying into a rage.
Tucker had such a volatile response that Ashley became quite frightened.
Of course, we’ve seen flashbacks of Ashley looking terrified as Tucker smashed a glass and threw a chair.
It’s clear that Ashley remembers it happening that way, but Tucker has a very different version of events.
In the December 28 episode, Tucker seemed genuinely confused over Ashley’s recap of what went down.
From Tucker’s perspective, he just knocked a glass over inadvertently and shoved a chair slightly as he stomped off.
It wasn’t nearly as bad in Tucker’s mind – and his flashbacks line up with that.
In other words, Tucker isn’t lying about the way he remembers the café confrontation.
Even so, that doesn’t mean Tucker’s side of the story is accurate.
It’s possible that Tucker simply can’t recognize his own flaws and understand how badly he hurts the people he claims to love.
Tucker has a victim mentality and always thinks nobody’s giving him a fair chance, so he’s an unreliable storyteller – even in flashback form.
On the flip side, there’s no guarantee that Ashley’s recollection is exactly right either.
Maybe Ashley overreacted a bit and has convinced herself that Tucker was more out of control than he really was.
That said, there’s no denying that Ashley was scared, so we can’t minimize Tucker’s behavior too much.
Tucker was out of line no matter what, especially since Ashley was just trying to do right by her family.
If Tucker truly loved Ashley the way he claimed to, that love would’ve been more important than any empire they had planned.
Tucker is a selfish brat who’s always going to put himself first, so it’s probably best that Ashley figures that out now.
Being with Tucker can only end in unsettling news and heartbreak.
Bottom line, neither Ashley nor Tucker may recall the Paris blowup exactly as it happened.
The real story could be somewhere in between, so fans may just have to decide who’s right for themselves!
