Playing with fire
Leo’s a lot of things, and subtle isn’t one of them. He’s made his plan and intentions known to Sloan Petersen and is relishing in trying to break her.
But maxing out her $30,000 credit card could be the straw that broke the camel’s back.
He’s handing her the perfect opportunity to have him arrested and delegitimize him further thanks to Eric Brady telling her the card was declined.
She said she doesn’t know why, but since she apparently has two of them, she can claim that she tries to help Leo by getting him a room at the Salem Inn and he must’ve lifted her card and has been using it.
This fits in with Leo’s grifter past, and no matter what accusations he hurls at her about having Nicole and EJ’s baby they won’t stick.
EJ already dismissed him, but Nicole will latch onto it because she wants to believe it, and that’ll lead to the test results they have in the safe that Sloan may not have switched out.
Lady Whistleblower to the rescue?
Leo’s past as Lady Whistleblower could also aid in his defense, especially after the paper put a spin on him to make him a local folk hero.
With the paper’s readers on his side, it’ll give him some support and maybe even a solid defense fund, but more importantly, he’ll have the court of opinion on his side.
At least, a good portion of it.
It should lead to some fun interactions as well as Leo being able to continue to fight to do what’s right and prove himself. Assuming, of course, that the writers go this route.
Will Leo save the day or will he overplay his hand? Let us know in the comments below and check back with Days of Our Lives Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
