The Young and the Restless spoilers unveil Summer Newman’s decision to explore a romantic connection with Chance Chancellor.
With Sharon Rosales expressing a lack of interest in a serious relationship with Chance, Summer sees a chance to step in and potentially create her own opportunity to be with him.
Of course, Summer doesn’t realize that the situation has changed.
Following Sharon’s dream and her decision to break things off with Chance in the January 5 episode, Summer won’t have to worry about whether Chance is available anymore.
Now Summer can confess her feelings and try to find out if Chance feels the same way, too.
Sharon already pushed Chance to reveal what would happen if they weren’t seeing each other and Summer asked him out.
Although Sharon was curious whether Chance would accept, he chose not to go down the road of hypothetical questions with her.
Chance couldn’t be sure what his answer would be, but The Young and the Restless may soon offer the chance to find out!
Will Summer ask Chance out soon and face a surprise rejection?
Maybe Summer will get updates on the breakup and decide this is perfect.
Summer might breathe a sigh of relief once Sharon is out of the way and hope this means she can move full-speed ahead with Chance herself.
Perhaps Summer will even get bold enough to ask Chance out on a real date and hope he says yes.
However, there’s no guarantee Chance will want to jump right into dating Summer.
Chance was clearly more into Sharon than he previously let on.
In Sharon’s standalone special, Chance admitted he could see himself falling in love with Sharon and having a future with her.
Although Chance wasn’t in all that deep with Sharon yet, it was still a tough blow when she pushed him away.
That could lead to Chance pushing Summer away as well since he might need a little time to lick his wounds.
In other words, Summer might trade one problem for another if Chance goes from unavailable to emotionally distant.
Chance might even blame Summer on some level for getting too flirty, raising Sharon’s concerns and setting his split from her in motion.
It might be too easy for Summer to walk right up to Chance and get what she wants, so maybe he’ll reject her date offer and make her work for it.
