Despite Liam Spencer assuring Hope Logan that he wouldn’t judge her, his latest cabin visit was marked by heightened judgment.
Liam obviously doesn’t approve of Hope’s relationship with Thomas Forrester and took plenty of jabs over the engagement ring he saw on her necklace.
Of course, Hope pointed out that it’s none of Liam’s business whether she accepted the proposal, but Liam couldn’t resist getting under her skin about it.
We’re seeing a new side of Liam lately where he seems to take joy in pushing Hope’s buttons and getting a reaction out of her.
Liam is truly in his villain era, which is nice since the show acted like he was a good guy for so long.
Now it feels like The Bold and the Beautiful’s finally letting Liam be a sanctimonious creep without pretending otherwise.
Taking that into account, we should consider an interesting line of dialogue from the January 11 episode.
Liam pointed out that he was keeping his fingers crossed about Hope realizing how much this relationship was costing her and getting out of it.
What exactly is Hope’s relationship costing her right now?
It seems like Hope is actually getting a whole lot out of being with Thomas, who adores her and gives her the one-woman attention she’s craving.
It’s true that Hope has to put up with a few naysayers because of her current romance, but that’s not a big deal compared to all the sizzling benefits and the feeling of Thomas’ total devotion.
However, Liam clearly doesn’t want to see Hope happy with his worst enemy.
Perhaps Liam’s line about what Hope’s relationship was costing her is more about what’s still to come in this storyline.
Now that Hope could be on the verge of marrying Thomas, how far will Liam go to stop them from tying the knot?
Could Liam make it so Hope’s relationship with Thomas could potentially cost her Beth Spencer?
Liam might deliver an ultimatum at some point and warn that if Hope doesn’t dump Thomas, she’ll leave him no choice.
Perhaps Liam will threaten to go after full custody of Beth and vow to win with the help of all Bill Spencer’s connections and money.
Bill has bribed judges before and could do it again, so Liam may urge Hope to keep that in mind and choose wisely.
That would be a great obstacle to keep Hope and Thomas apart for a while – at least if Hope surrendered to Liam’s demand.
