The latest buzz on The Young and the Restless has Victoria Newman feeling incredibly anxious about Claire Grace as the Jordan saga resurfaces.
Victor Newman asked Claire to give Jordan a message for him if she called back, so that request didn’t go over well with Victoria.
In fact, Victoria said she’d never forgive Victor if he caused a setback for her daughter, but Victor was clear about Nikki Newman being his priority – NOT Claire!
That probably lets us know exactly where Victor will stand when it’s time for Claire’s release.
Claire may impress Victoria by staying strong and proving she’s got what it takes to overcome the pain Jordan forced her to endure.
After Jordan faces a potentially fatal exit, Claire may take even more steps forward in her recovery.
The Young and the Restless can’t drag this part of the story out forever, so it may not be too long until Claire’s doctors recommend her release.
Of course, Claire will need someone to watch over her as she transitions back into the real world, but Victoria will happily open her home to her.
Once Claire proves she’s well enough to leave the psych ward, Victoria may get excited and start planning her daughter’s homecoming.
That’s when Victor could intervene and stir up major family conflict.
It’s one thing for Victor to accept that Claire is part of the family, but it’s quite another to do it at the expense of family members he already knows and loves.
Victor might decide he knows best and bribe or threaten the staff to keep Claire locked up longer.
That would be a very Victor-like thing to do – and it would be an excellent writing strategy to create tension with Victoria.
Perhaps Victor will argue that he doesn’t want Nikki to worry about another threat so soon after Jordan.
Victor may not care what the doctors say and decide for himself that Claire isn’t ready to be free.
That could lead to major pushback from Victoria, so Claire might find herself at the center of more Newman clashing.
