The Young and the Restless spoilers hint at a potential clash between Adam Newman and Claire Grace in the future.
Claire has shown empathy towards Adam’s sense of not belonging in the Newman family, sparking speculation of a brewing feud between them.
However, Claire quickly cast that notion aside after Adam hurled some suspicions and accusations her way in The Young and the Restless’s March 12 episode.
Adam acted like Claire could still be plotting with Jordan and expressed surprise over everyone’s willingness to move past all the dirty scheming Claire did.
Once it became clear that Adam didn’t trust Claire at all, she stood up for herself and insisted she was no longer under Jordan’s spell.
Claire has put in the work to get better, but no one can really blame Adam for fearing the worst.
It’s not like Adam’s family has kept him in the loop on anything, so he doesn’t really know Claire and has no reason to believe she’s changed.
Of course, this could be another writing strategy to stir up trouble between Adam and Victoria Newman.
Victoria’s mama bear side was already coming out when Adam suggested Claire could still be in cahoots with Jordan.
Since Victoria is so protective of Claire, the show may use this as a way to fuel her conflict with Adam even more.
That said, we should at least consider the idea that Adam’s right to be wary!
Claire may not be working with Jordan anymore, but she spent her whole life under that deranged woman’s control.
Some might say Claire’s transition to “good girl” happened too fast, so what if it’s only temporary?
Could something happen that causes Claire to revert to a more dangerous version of herself?
Perhaps Adam could trigger some kind of disturbing episode for Claire down the road.
Claire was essentially brainwashed against the “bad” Newmans from birth, so what if she begins to view Adam as the one “bad” Newman she needs to eliminate?
Maybe Jordan’s brainwashing could reactivate on some level and cause Claire to go off the rails again with Adam as her target!
In other words, Claire could make some updates to Jordan’s original plot and determine that Adam’s the one bad apple in the bunch.
