Days of Our Lives spoilers recap for Friday, May 17, reveals that Nicole DiMera attempted to persuade Holly Jonas to reconcile and spend time with her, but Holly wasn’t interested.
Holly ranted about pushing herself in school to achieve a better life than the one Nicole had.
She also tried to avoid causing any more family disruptions.
Nicole hated that Holly felt this way and only wanted her to have a happy, safe life.
Holly pushed for trust and a chance to attend prom.
When Nicole refused to let Holly go, Holly lashed out, saying the babies Nicole lost were fortunate because they didn’t have to deal with her as a mother.
Holly claimed motherhood wasn’t Nicole’s thing and rejected her hug, leaving Nicole in tears.
Later, Eric Brady visited Marlena Evans and John Black at their townhouse, where they admired Jude Brady in his stroller.
Marlena suggested Jude had Eric’s smile, and John agreed. Marlena assumed Jude was picking up Eric’s mannerisms, as many adopted kids do.
Eric updated them on his work arrangement with Nicole before going to meet her.
When Nicole didn’t show up in the town square, Eric called and realized she sounded drunk.
Nicole admitted she was at Small Bar, so Eric rescued her and took her home.
Meanwhile, Stefan DiMera, after failing to get EJ DiMera to reopen Li Shin’s case, took his concerns to Paulina Price and showed her new evidence.
Stefan accused EJ of abusing his power and letting a grudge interfere with justice.
Stefan revealed EJ’s plan to make his CEO position at DiMera Enterprises permanent while remaining DA, which Paulina said the bylaws wouldn’t allow.
Paulina summoned EJ, scolded him, and fired him on the spot.
EJ stormed into the DiMera mansion, furious, and found Nicole planting a drunken kiss on Eric for being her knight in shining armor.
While EJ fumed, Steve Johnson confronted Ava Vitali about the black book, suspecting she knew more about Clyde Weston than she let on.
Ava admitted she was looking for a more permanent solution to their problem with Clyde, rather than locking him back up.
Stefan, assuming EJ was getting fired, showed up to trade info with Ava, gleeful.
Steve also visited John, and they discussed Ava, the black book, Clyde, and the potential consequences for helping him escape.
At the hospital, Holly visited Marlena’s office, feeling guilty for saying awful things she didn’t mean to her mom.
Marlena suggested Holly write an apology letter while she was feeling rational and predicted that Nicole and Holly would work things out since it was important to both of them.
